The inaugural spin-off show of the mighty Classic Rock & Metal Podcast, the Next Generation focuses on newer bands
The first of our spin-off shows featuring new bands carrying the torch for Classic Rock & Metal.

This month featuring Hellyeah which includes former members of Mudvayne, Damageplan and Pantera, not least superstar drummer Vinnie Paul. They’ve just completed a UK tour with Stone Sour and Avenged Sevenfold and vocalist Chad Gray takes time out to talk about the new album Stampede, his favourite music and just having fun with the band.

White Wizzard are from L.A. and is the brainchild of Jon Leon who was fed up of Emo and Screamo music and wanted to be in a band that sounded more like the ones he loved from the 80s. He’s shuffled the pack in terms of personnel and with a debut album going down a storm they just finished their first headline tour of the UK.

JettBlack have been playing music together since they were kids but this year they got their debut album out, played Download and Ozzfest and toured with labelmates Reckless Love. Following in the footsteps of AC/DC, Kiss, Iron Maiden and other classic rock and metal bands they’re pure fun to listen to.

Primitai hail from Sandhurst in the UK and make no pretence about their adoration of Saxon, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. However they also bring a much harder edge to their second album, The LIne Of Fire and include influences from the likes of Lamb of God, Machine Head and even some prog rock. Well worth a listen.

Finally The Jokers from Liverpool have a new single, Jamie Jane which brings back the classic sound of the 70s glam rock bands, rarely heard these days. They’re touring in December with Hawkwind so have a listen and get yourselves down to see them.

Your new home for all things Classic Rock and Metal
This month we’re thrilled to have original Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward on the show talking about his 40 years since Paranoid‘s release, how he views life after his drink and drug problems, plus his solo projects and the possibility of a Sabbath reunion.

Y&T have just headlined a UK tour again and it was our great pleasure to talk to main man Dave Meniketti and catch up with the news of bassist Phil Kennemore’s treatment for cancer as well as talking through the new Facemelter album and how he turned Ozzy down many moons ago.

Robin George graced the front cover of Kerrang back in 1983, but since his 1985 Dangerous Music release has somewhat dropped off the radar - or so you thought. He’s actually worked with Robert Plant, Glenn Hughes, Phil Lynott, Diamond Head, Pete Way and Uriah Heep’s David Byron to name but a few. We kick back and catch up.

Finally former Genesis guitarist and renowned singer/songwriter Steve Hackett checks in on the eve of his latest UK tour supporting his most recent release Out Of The Tunnel’s Mouth. Having just played 150 shows around the world he’s proving that he’s still a road warrior at heart.

Competition: WIN copies of the brand new Dio at Donington: Live 1983 & 1987. Listen to the show to find out how!

Neil Buchanan formerly of TV’s Art Attack checks in as he gets ready to go out on tour with Marseille, the band that he started almost 35 years ago.

There’s a brief introduction to Norwegian singer Isabell Oversveen who has a new album out and a UK tour pending. If you’re into melodic hard rock, you’re in for a treat.

Finally we talk to new kids on the block, Reckless Love from Finland. If 80s hair metal is your bag, you can’t afford to miss them.
